first aid
training
sessions.
Our
first aid training is for
the lay person
or the
professional who
would like to
re-fresh their
skills.
We
encourage all
our members to
regularly to do
basic life
support and
first aid
training as we
see this as a
significant part
of our emergency
response. It is
far easier to
arrive on the
scene if the
initial 5 min
prior to our
arrival have
been pro-active
and not
destructive to
the patient. In
any emergency
situation all
over the world
there will
always be a
certain
emergency
response time
during which one
is waiting the
arrival of
professional
help. There is
so much that a
lay person can
do which can
enhance the
outcome of
survival for an
individual –
something as
simple as the
recovery
position can
save a life. We
feel it is our
responsibility
to encourage a
certain level of
knowledge to all
with regards to
first aid and
life support
techniques.
Our
team is equipped
with adult and
paediatric
mannequins which
allow them to
perform
professional
workshops with
hands on
practice of the
latest CPR
techniques. Our
mannequins are
electronically
connected to a
CPR feedback
device which can
show you the
success of your
heart massage
techniques that
you are using
and measure your
effectiveness
with regards to
providing the
simulated
patient with
enough oxygen to
survive.
Our
presentations
are done on
laptops and
projected onto a
blank wall or
onto a white
screen via a
LCD-projector.
Ideally training
done through us
would require a
fairly large
room where this
can be
effectively seen
by all
participants and
enough space for
the mannequin to
be used for the
practical
sections of the
training. Should
you be involved
in particularly
high risk
activities which
expose you to
very specific
risks you can
inform us in
advance and our
medical team can
try to tailor
our workshop to
your needs. For
example if you
work in a remote
location and
would like more
emphasis on
first aid for
snake bites for
example.
