 Our
Takoradi Clinic
and ambulance
base is located
in the Chapel
Hill Area in
Takoradi and is
well signposted
from the major
junctions in the
area.
In the small
remote coastal
town of Takoradi,
three hours by
road from Accra,
there is rapid
industrial
growth taking
place primarily
due the recent
activities of
the oil
industry. West
African Rescue
Association has
developed an
office base
there consisting
of a second
ambulance base,
consultation
clinic and small
four bedded
admitting
facility in
order to assist
corporate
clients in the
area.

Our Takoradi clinic is a
replica of the Accra
Clinic but has a few
additional features due
to the remoteness of
this base. We have set
up our own laboratory
there and in addition
have an x-ray facility
both of these are
available 24 hours. We
have two private wards
both two bedded for
admission purposes for
patients who require
being admitted under our
care. Our admitted
patients are taken care
of by our in house
doctors and paramedics.

Our small 24 hour
laboratory in Takoradi
is equipped with a QBC,
microscope, a centrifuge
and a semi-auto
biochemistry analyser.
We can currently perform
the following laboratory
tests from this lab:
full blood count;
malaria antigen test;
QBC malaria; sickling
test; blood glucose –
fasting and random;
fasting lipid profile;
urea, electrolytes (K);
creatinine; uric acid;
liver function test;
helicobacter Pylori
Test; HIV 1 and 11 Spot
Test; stool occult blood
test; syphilis spot
test; urine pregnancy
test; drug abuse
screening test;
urinalysis; PSA spot
test; hepatitis B
surface antigen test;
lipid profile, ABO/Rh
blood group; cardiac
enzymes spot test; Widal
Test; Creatinine Kinase-CK
and Amylase.
Should any of our
existing WARA members
spend a lot of time in
the Takoradi area or be
based there and would
